The daffodils are out, the sun is trying to get through and the clocks go forward next weekend. So, it’s about now when we all turn our thoughts to the Spring clean. A bit of decorating, some gardening, or just a clear out of all those overfull cupboards – they are all things we promise ourselves we’ll do once the days start getting a little longer. But, it’s still a little chilly so whilst we all have good intentions, it can be a little difficult to motivate yourself to make a start.
Unless you have a pressing need to clear everything out in one go (like a house move) it’s important to do things in manageable chunks. It’s all too easy to empty drawers and cupboards only to be so overwhelmed by the volume of things to sort through that it all goes back exactly where it came from!
We all like a good bargain from time to time and can sometimes get quite excited when we see something we want at a surprisingly low price. Sometimes we get lucky but often there’s some sort of problem or catch. Offer adverts are often the same. Various offers scream out from the headlines; 8 weeks for the price of 4 or 50% off for the first 6 weeks are common examples. But often they don’t reveal the potential for costs to be incurred if you change your mind part way through an offer period or exactly what’s included. Continue reading →

Many people use self storage for a number of reason and increasingly people are using self storage for longer periods of time. Carefully considering the ongoing cost right from the very start is essential if you are to manage the ongoing costs. However, we recognise that sometimes circumstances change and a review of your financial situation may be needed. A project may be going on longer than expected resulting in increased costs; business may be suffering a slow down or your personal circumstance has changed. If your self storage costs are beginning to cause a strain on your finances you may think about removing your items from storage to get rid of the ongoing cost. Perhaps a friend can help you out by storing your things at their house? But if you’ve got nowhere alternative to put your items don‘t just cross your fingers and hope things will improve. Things may well get better further down the line, but if they don’t the problem will only get worse and your goods are at risk.
