Regardless of whether you wanted to
leave or remain, Brexit has impacted the UK housing market for everyone. But now
that the verdict is out and the UK has left the EU, what are the predictions
for post-Brexit future?
According to data from the Land
Registry, the average annual house prices increased by 2.2% in December which
is up from 1.7% in November. For the first time in two years, house prices have
increased all over the UK.
As the demand for self storage increases so does the need for additional premises. While our facilities in Bristol, Stroud and Gloucester provide excellent coverage, this expansion provides our customers with even more options. It’s been in the pipeline for some time but at last, Space Centre Self Storage Stonehouse could open late Spring.
For some time now, the Space Centre Self Storage team has supported various charities and as mentioned in a post from June this year, Lucinda was training hard for the 2018 Ride London. While the events are always a lot of fun, this year proved more challenging mainly because of bad weather. We take a closer look at the Prudential Ride London and how the event unfolded. Lucinda also shares some valuable cycling tips for those interested in starting out.
In February this year, we announced the expansion of our Stroud self storage facility and we are near the end. With the self storage industry growing incredibly fast, it was important for us to meet the ever-increasing demand.
Expanding the Stroud self storage facility seemed challenging at first with some strict planning requirements. The property we purchased is home to an old mill and we wanted to avoid any environmental issues while retaining the building’s original character. In order to do so, we refrained from making any major alterations and used cladding on the outside. This basically protects the old mill and keeps it close the original state. If someone wants to, they can simply remove the cladding and the main building remains untouched.
Looking at the flourishing self storage industry in the UK, it becomes clear that more people rely on storage facilities. The fact that people generally use self storage at critical stages of their lives makes all the difference. This can include anything from moving, downsizing, starting a family, kids going off to Uni or starting a business.
Whether we like to admit it or not, most of us simply have too much stuff but not enough space. Storage at most homes and small businesses is limited so people have to make alternative arrangements. Contrary to what some may believe, self storage is possibly the safest, easiest, most affordable and flexible solution.
