Now that the weather is improving, everyone is raring to get out onto the water. For the permanent boat residents, it must be particularly exciting to finally untie the mooring lines and get the motor running.
What do people use self storage for? Do you auction off the contents of units when people don’t pay? Is it like Storage Hunters (on TV)?
A couple of questions we get asked regularly when people find out the business we’re in. Let’s address the second 2 first as they’re quite quick and easy to answer.
The laws in the UK are quite different to those in America which means that auctioning off unit contents is rarely done, and no, it’s not really like the TV programmes!

It has certainly been a busy time of late in Stroud where Space Centre Self Storage took the decision to expand the branch in a bid to bring it into line with extra demand.
We purchased the adjacent warehouse to our existing site which has allowed us to create over 150 additional internal storage units.
Having started in 1995 with just 20 units, our Stroud storage facility now has over 300 individual units, of all shapes and sizes and to suit every need. Space Centre Self Storage director Lucinda Dangerfield is delighted with the expansion project and said; “It took approximately six months to convert our new warehouse building into a modern storage facility.
